Swinging is a kind of lifestyle though not acceptable to many but still there are those that practices it. Swinging is defined as a non monogamous relationship. It is a social activity that a couple may engage to several partners other than the one he/she is with. They are both consensual about it and enjoys doing that as part of their lives. They are called swingers.

Swingers culture cannot be traced when it exactly started. Some researches has said it started in as early as the 17th century which they say is an occultist activity before and was regarded as unacceptable behaviour. In the latter 19th century this become popular when the communist ideology were starting to sprout in Germany. Although they have not accepted it as part of the ideology itself but they tried to dissociate themselves with this group. By the late 20th century, the swinging culture became more pronounced and they even organized themselves into an organization. They try to hold their activities more openly because of these many conservatives were stunned by their acts. Many believed that it started early on with the military. Back then, many American soldiers were being destined to various places leaving behind their wives alone. To compensate with the lack of emotional support from their husbands abroad, they adopted a system of allowing their wives to be partnered with their comrade soldiers left behind to take care of their emotional needs as well as sexual needs. Some called this wife swapping. This activity then spread from military camps and out in the suburbs. Their groups increase at a stunning rate already that they even started organizing themselves that created more awareness and a lot of gorgeous couple converted themselves into it out of curiosity.

Swingers' influence has become a force to contend with the times. Many conservatives are wary about their growing numbers. There are many pros and cons to this issue. Religious beliefs are very much opposed to this kind of activity, mainly, because they are not an acceptable behaviour in our contemporary religious beliefs. Secondly, there may some be health risks that go beyond it. Since a swinger would be engage in many sexual partners there is a higher risk that the one partner may just contract STD and other sexual diseases related to it. Thirdly, Swingers activity cannot be denied that when one is engaged into it there is a chance that emotional component is always complicated since it cannot be avoided. Although many claimed that their partnerships became stronger when they practiced this there is also a possibility that emotional strains might occur along the way since sexual activity triggers emotional and might be delusional because of it and may just strain relationships.
