Story for the Worker

Jo did not think much of dating websites: she had never really used them because they just did not work for her. She had a friend who was very into dating websites and thought they were brilliant. They really did seem to work for her friend too: but Jo was not particularly good with computers and so would rather any day to go to a club or a pub and talk to someone that she had never met before. Each to her his or her own, Jo's mum would say when the conversation piece would crop up when the three of them were taking the bus to town.

Jo had heard a lot about dating websites in the past three months, because three months ago she had split up with her most recent boy friend, whose name by the by was Arnold. She had been upset for a little while but got over it quite rapidly after that, but no one could quite accept it.

She could remember all sorts of wonderful times that her and Arnold had had together, and a couple of those good times had been in a bedroom here in a hotel or at home. She had loved to dance with Arnold in her arms, but that time was no more. It was time for her to move on. But she was not going to go check up on a couple of dating websites. No, she was going to go to a local club and pick someone up there. She wasn't entirely sure who they were going to be just yet.

She found someone in there, but all they wanted to do when she got home to their flat was cuddle. Jo was very annoyed about that, as they were really very cute, and she had been hoping to do a lot with them.l Ah well, she picked up her coat and left the flat to go back to the party that she had just left.

There were a lot of strangers in there, and non e of them really took Jo's fancy that much. Not in the way that Arnold had done to her. The tow of them had been perfect for one another, she was just beginning to realise. In the end she picked up her phone and dialled the number that she had sworn she was going to remove. It was the number of Arnold.
