Story for the Worker

My mom and her brand new husband met on an online dating site 6 months ago and they got married this weekend. They made the most adorable couple at the altar and all of just had to cry as we saw how in love with each other they are. By the end of the day my heart was so full that had I dies that night I would have died happy and content that my mom who has gone through so many hard things in life was able to find such a perfect man to love and care for her for the rest of her life. I now know that I won't ever have to worry about her anymore, now it's going to be her turn to enjoy life and have fun after spending years and years taking care of 6 children on her own and never having a personal moment for herself. Maybe it is true that you reap what you sow because my mom has done so much all her life and really deserved all of the happiness and joy that she is getting now.

When she told me that she was going to join an online dating site I had mixed feelings. For one I was happy that she was ready to take a step towards changing her life and meeting someone, but at the same time I was worried that she would meet a man like my father who was no good and lazy. Of course though I supported her and helped her choose the online dating site that was best suited for her. Then we made it a girls night kind of thing once a week, we would meet in my house and log into the online dating site to check and review all of her matches. It was fun to see her so happy and so excited, it made me realize that my mom had also had to give up a love life all those years while she was busy raising us.

I had never taken that into consideration and every time she went on a date I would give her a big hug and wish her the best. One day she met the man of her dreams and when she got engaged we knew that her life had changed for ever and I thanked God for giving her that second chance to live the life she could not live before.
