Story for the Worker

It was funny how my husband James and I met.

I was walking so fast as I entered the front door of the local club house where I was about to attend a dating service event. I was ten minutes late but fortunately the dating service has not begun yet.

As the emcees for that event enter the stage, I was already stunned by this good-looking man. Inside me, I was thinking that this guy cannot be single anymore. With his good looks, charm, confidence, style and overall personality, I doubt if he is still single and available.

The emcees introduced themselves as James and Janice. I was thinking that perhaps they were couple. They gave a bit of thought on how the program would go the whole night. They were so passionate on what they were doing and the way they talked about the previous success of their dating service. At first, they introduced those who are participating. They called the names of each of us participants and we stood up as we were called to be acknowledged by the other attendees. The second part of the program was the cocktail party where all attendees get the chance to move from table to table and socialize.

I took advantage of the second part to get closer to James and introduced myself. We shook hands and he gave me a kiss on the cheek as well. His hands are so soft and smooth. They feel like they are more lady-like than mine.

The third part of the program was the speed dating which is just one part of the dating service that James and their company are giving. We were placed in our respective seats with a partner and every five minutes we change partners. Changing partners went so exciting. It was like meeting new person and prospective life partner every five minutes. I loved that part.

When the dating service was already finished, party started. I had to ask the waitress for a cup of coffee as I was starting to get tired but I still wanted to stay and finish the party. The aroma of the coffee woke me up and I felt like I was fully energized. It was nearly 12:00 in the morning when James approached me and handed me his card with a note written at the back saying "Nice to meet you. I am looking forward to seeing you again." And the rest is history.
